The Mauritius Police Force (MPF) is the national law enforcement agency of Mauritius. The MPF carries out police, security and military functions on the island nation, with over 10,000 active-duty personnel under the command of the Commissioner of Police.[1]
As Mauritius has no standing army, the Mauritius Police are responsible for military duties on the island as well as policing and security. Military duties are performed by two paramilitary sub-agencies: the Special Mobile Force and the National Coast Guard.
